How we handle your information at our shop
Last Updated: November 6, 2025
Look, we get it - nobody really wants to read through pages of legal jargon. But here's the deal: we actually care about your privacy and want you to know what happens with your info when you work with us.
At Igny Sylvex Continuum Auto Care, we're not just about fixing European imports and diagnosing electrical gremlins. We're also serious about protecting your personal details. This policy lays out what we collect, why we need it, and how we keep it safe.
We've been working on high-end Euro cars for years, and trust me - if we can keep your BMW's sensitive ECU data secure, we can definitely handle your contact info properly. This privacy policy applies to all services we provide, whether you're dropping by our shop on Continental Drive or reaching out through our website.
When you bring your ride to us or get in touch online, here's what we typically need:
We only collect what's actually necessary to service your vehicle properly and keep you in the loop about your repairs.
We're not gonna sell your email to spam lists or anything shady like that. Here's what we actually do with your info:
When you're dealing with modern European cars, security isn't just about locking the doors anymore. Same goes for your personal data.
Here's how we protect your information:
That said, no system's 100% bulletproof. We do everything reasonable to protect your data, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know ASAP and tell you what happened and what we're doing about it.
We're not in the business of selling your info. Period. But sometimes we need to share certain details with other folks to get the job done:
When we're ordering that rare BMW part or getting OEM components, we might need to share your vehicle info with our suppliers. They need to know what car we're working on to send the right stuff.
We use secure payment services to handle transactions. They get the info they need to process your payment, nothing more.
For warranty claims or recalls, we'll share relevant vehicle and repair data with the manufacturer or warranty company. They need this to approve claims and track safety issues.
If you're filing an insurance claim, we'll work directly with your insurer and provide them with repair estimates and documentation.
If the law requires it - like a court order or government investigation - we'll cooperate. But we're not gonna hand over your data just because someone asks nicely.
Yeah, our website uses cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately - these are little bits of data that help the site work better.
What we use them for:
Your browser probably has settings to block or delete cookies if you want. Just heads up that some features might not work as smoothly if you do.
It's your data, and you've got rights. Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and all that), here's what you can do:
| Your Right | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Access | You can ask to see what info we have about you. We'll show you (within reason). |
| Correction | If something's wrong, let us know and we'll fix it. Wrong phone number? We'll update it. |
| Deletion | Want us to delete your info? We can do that, but we might need to keep some records for legal or warranty reasons. |
| Opt-out | Don't want marketing emails or service reminders? Just tell us and we'll stop. |
| Portability | Need your service records for another shop? We can provide them in a usable format. |
To exercise any of these rights, just give us a call at (604) 555-7832 or email service@ignysylvexcontinuum.info. We'll get back to you within 30 days max, usually way faster.
Here's something most shops won't tell you about - when we work on modern European vehicles, especially with ECU programming and diagnostics, we're accessing a LOT of data from your car's computers.
What kind of vehicle data we handle:
Most of this technical data stays in your car. We might keep copies of diagnostic logs and programming files in our shop management system for reference, but we're not analyzing your driving habits or selling this data to anyone.
Some manufacturers (looking at you, BMW and VAG Group) collect their own telematics data directly from your car. That's between you and them - we don't control what they do with it. If you've got questions about that, you'll need to check your vehicle's privacy settings and the manufacturer's policies.
Look, we get that privacy policies can be confusing. If you've got questions about any of this stuff, or if you're concerned about how we're handling your data, don't hesitate to reach out.
